Daicon IV was an animation created by a group of animation students who would later go on to form Studio GAINAX. It was created as a short film to be shown at the opening ceremonies for the annual Japanese SF Convention in Osaka in 1983. It contains a number visual of references to other works of anime, film, literature, manga, TV, western comics, games, etc. This wiki exists to help identify as many of the references as possible.

All images were taken from a DVD encode of Daicon IV captured from an original LD. Every frame was converted into an image, but not all images hosted on this wiki. None of the sequences from the Daicon III recap introduction are present, and scenes that lack the appearance of outside characters (eg the opening still shots of the Bunny Girl) are not being included unless they deserve extended commentary (ie the sakura explosion).

Besides this and the template page, all of the pages will be 100% user editable. Please be respectful of the site and the other uses. Please do not use this site for flaming, and be respectful of all other users and contributors.
